Jeffreys Bay Surf Breaks
J-Bay is home to some of the world's most famous right-hand point breaks. Here's what you need to know about each one:
Kitchen Windows
The ideal learning break, right in front of Wavecrest on Dolphin Beach. Long, mellow waves with a forgiving takeoff, perfect for beginner and intermediate surfers. This is where our group lessons take place.
Our lesson spotMagnatubes
A fast, long-walled section linking into the main J-Bay pointbreak. Great for intermediate surfers wanting to work on speed and longer wave riding. Accessible in smaller swells.
Speed & styleThe Point
Where surfing in J-Bay started, and still the friendliest wave on the point. Long, mellow right-handers that break slower than Supertubes and run a long way, so there is time to work on your turns instead of just holding on. A favourite with longboarders and with anyone stepping up from the inside.
Longboard favouriteBoneyards
A powerful, hollow wave breaking over a rocky bottom between Magnatubes and Supertubes. Best for experienced surfers. Our surf guides can take you here when conditions and ability align.
With a guideSupertubes
One of the world's greatest right-hand point breaks and home of the WSL Corona Cero J-Bay Open. Fast, barrelling, and powerful: a bucket-list wave. Visible from Dolphin Beach on any sizeable swell.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before your first lesson
Yes. A basic ability to swim is required for your safety. You don't need to be an Olympic swimmer, but you should be comfortable in the water. All beginner lessons take place in waist-deep water under close instructor supervision.
Just bring a swimsuit, sunscreen, and a towel. We provide everything else: surfboard, wetsuit, leash, and rash vest. All equipment is cleaned and inspected before every lesson.
Each lesson is approximately 2 hours, including a land-based safety and technique session before entering the water. We run sessions at 7:30am, 10am, 12pm, and 2pm daily.
We welcome surfers from age 6 and up. Children under 12 are placed in small groups with close instructor supervision. We cater for school groups and family holidays regularly.
Yes. All equipment is included in every lesson package. This covers your surfboard (matched to your size and experience), wetsuit, leash, and rash vest. You arrive empty-handed and we sort the rest.
We provide high-quality neoprene wetsuits suited to the season. In summer (October–April) we typically use 3/2mm suits. In winter (May–September) we switch to 4/3mm suits for warmth. Water temperatures in J-Bay range from around 14°C in winter to 22°C in summer, so we always make sure you're comfortable in the water.
Your safety always comes first. If conditions are unsuitable we will reschedule your lesson at no extra charge, or offer a full refund. We check conditions every morning and contact you early if a rebook is needed.
We cap group lessons at 6 students per instructor, and most lessons average 4. This means real personalised coaching, and plenty of time in the water for each student. For maximum individual attention, our private lessons offer dedicated 1-on-1 coaching.
Every multi-day package gives you a 2-hour coached lesson each day, plus your board and wetsuit for the rest of that day at no extra charge. So you learn in the morning and then go practise what you learned in the afternoon, which is where most of the progress actually happens.
Yes. Video analysis is an optional add-on for intermediate and advanced lessons at R500 per session. Your coach films you from the water, gives you feedback live during the session, and you get the footage of your own waves afterwards. It is the quickest way to see and fix what you are doing.
Absolutely, we love groups! We cater for corporate team-building, school trips, bachelor/bachelorette parties, and large family bookings. Contact us via WhatsApp or email for group pricing, availability, and custom packages.
